Larry and Debby McGee
THIS IS THE STORY OF DEBBY & LARRY MCGEE. ONLY THE NAMES REMAIN THE SAME TO DISCLOSE THE GUILTY.
Since it’s always best to let ladies go first, let me tell you about Debby. She was born in Fort Worth, Texas. When she graduated from high school, she got married, had a baby, and moved to College Station, Texas. A few moves and two kids later, I had the best luck possible when she moved to Paris and we met. Debby has three great kids who are all married except the youngest who will be wed in May 2008. She has two wonderful Grandsons who live with her Daughter and son-in-law in Sherman. The oldest Son lives in Phoenix, AZ and the youngest Son lives in Dallas. She has EMT experience and is currently a long-term substitute teacher and an excellent cook (I obviously reflect that talent!).
I was born in Paris, Texas and have lived there all my life. My working career began at the age of 12 with a newspaper route. That initiated my love for motorcycles with a Cushman Highlander from which I threw my route (always got ‘em on the porch!). With careers, I’ve been through The Paris News Circulation Department, plant worker, Time Study Engineer, Ford Salesman, Insurance Agent, and Banker. I am currently in my 30th year in the Banking Industry with the last 24 of them being at Liberty National Bank in Paris, TX. I have also been a professional photographer for 30+ years. Debby is my “right arm” in this business. We mainly do Wedding Photography with some family/portrait sessions thrown in. I have two great kids and two fantastic Grandsons. Both my kids are married. My Daughter lives in Paris and my Son lives in Austin, TX.
With motorcycles, I’ve just about ridden and owned all kinds. I can only remember one period in my life that I didn’t have a bike, and that’s when I had to sell it to buy living room furniture.
Debby and I met on New Year’s Eve, 1995. It was a BLIND date! Some mutual friends had “fixed us up” for a New Year’s Eve party. Just so that it wouldn’t be a total shock, I called Debby and got a date with her two days before the party. We went to eat at a Mexican restaurant in Bonham, TX and just HIT IT OFF from the very beginning. Man…that was the best New Years ever! We dated for about eight months and decided to make it permanent with a trip to Las Vegas and the Little White Chapel for our wedding. We did not opt for the additional $25 to have Elvis, but we did have a nice little private ceremony on August 26, 1996.
Debby and I, along with our Boston Terrier Jaxon, ride a 2006 Wing. We enjoy riding every chance we get. I have been a GWRRA member since 1992. I just signed Debby up this week. When the opportunity was afforded us to ride with the G-2 Roadrunners, we were super pleased. They are truly a great bunch of folks that like to ride as much as we do. We always look forward to every G-2 meeting and ride. We hope that we can grow to be a greater asset to the chapter.
